Meet the Staff


John M. Hollick, Superintendent

John began by working on golf carts for private owners at Berwick Golf Club, where his uncle was a member, for extra cash and complementary play. He then went to Edgewood in the Pines Golf Club as a part-time golf cart mechanic. Next was Sugarloaf Golf Club, hired again part-time as a Marshal, then moved to the greens department where he caught the bug for maintaining the golf course.

A life changing experience prompted him to seek acceptance to the Turf Management program at Penn State University, part of which included a six month internship at Dowingtown Country Club, where a total renovation of that course was taking place.

Graduating from PSU in 1997, he was fortunate to be hired as a Second Assistant Superintendent building the Jack Nicklaus designed, Great Bear CC, In Marshals Creek, PA. He then moved to Frosty Valley CC in 1999 as an Assistant, training to replace their retiring Superintendent. This was the move that attained his goal of living and working near his children.  

Indian Hills CC in Paxinos, PA came calling in 2000, looking to replace their Super who was leaving for another job. John was superintendent there for six years before coming to Knoebels Three Ponds GC at the recommendation of Steve Jepko, former owner of Three Ponds, in 2007. He strives to continue to improve the esthetics, conditions, and playability here along with the Knoebel family.

Food & Beverage Manager

Kathy Baker, Food & Beverage Manager

Kathy has over 20 years of experience including 15 years at Frost Valley CC where she served as the Food & Beverage Manager. Kathy also worked at Indian Hills CC.  She oversees the daily orders from the snack bar inventory through our full service meals and drink specials. Kathy also handles all food and beverage orders for events and tournaments.


Food & Beverage Marketing Specialist

Vanessa Lippay, Food & Beverage Marketing Specialist

With over 10 years of experience in the food & beverage industry, Vanessa is excited to join the Three Ponds’ team. Vanessa began working seasonally at Knoebels in 2002, so you may have seen her grilling burgers at the Phoenix Junction Steakhouse, making your favorite Starbuck’s Frappuccino, or supervising the Old Mill Ice Cream stand (and much more).

While in school, Vanessa travelled as much as possible and took special delight in the local cuisines. Vanessa obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Rice University (Houston, TX), a Masters of Biomedical Science from The Commonwealth Medical College (Scranton, PA), and studied on the Caribbean island of Grenada for a year. After working in research, home health, and as an IT specialist, Vanessa realized what she really wanted was a career that would allow her to express her creativity, her commitment to excellent customer service, and her passion for food. When the opportunity to help build and promote the Nickle Plate Bar & Grill became available for the 2016 season, she jumped at the chance to re-join the Knoebels’ family permanently!
